About Us

A NOTE FROM THE FOUNDER
Being born to a Filipino & Spanish mother and an Irish- American Father was a blessing that allowed me to be raised between cultures. Growing up, my mothers heritage and cultural values had a huge influence on me and played a major role in shaping me into the women I am today.  Women in our culture are strong, passionate and wise and love to pass down their family values and rituals.
Something I loved about the women in my family was how they valued and celebrated their cultural beauty. Beauty rituals were like a rite of passage. At a young age we were taught how take care of our skin and how to put on makeup. I have such fond memories of me as a child putting on makeup with my mom and my sister. We created so many fun and memorable experiences that I too hoped to experience and pass on to my daughters.
I've lived in the New York City areas of Inwood & the Bronx for over 25yrs with my husband and daughters: Chelsi Marie, who is Cuban, Filipino, Spanish and American, Savannah Love and Sienna Raine, who are Dominican, Filipino, Spanish and American.  Talk about a multi-ethnic, we call it Asian-Latinx!

Being raised and fully immersed in a predominately Hispanic neighborhood allowed my daughters to become deeply connected to their roots. Our commonality as mother and daughters was that we were strong, free spirited women who loved to show off our cultural beauty.  Together we wanted to promote inclusivity of all Latinx women in the beauty space to share our unique styles, make-up looks and skincare routines as a way to stay bonded as a family and a community.

OUR STORY

Nude Babe Cosmetics is a Mother- Daughter beauty brand that believes women of all cultures and ethnicity are born beautiful.  As Asian-Latinx women ourselves, we were faced with our own personal feelings of exclusion when it came to mainstream beauty brands as we never found ourselves represented in the beauty space. Together we are determined to empower and inspire women like us to be fearless, to embrace our cultural diversities and to change the narrative by promoting positive representations of all cultures in the beauty industry.

OUR MISSION

The mission of our brand is to promote unity and inclusivity in the beauty space as we stop the negative and emotionally harmful stereo types of Latinx women that are portrayed in the media.  Asian-Latinx, Afro-Latinx and Mestizo - are all examples of women of multi ethnicity in the Latinx community that should no longer be labeled with demeaning phrases, false imagery and unwanted sexual connotations.

OUR BELIEF

We believe that makeup is an empowering and uplifting tool that we can use as a way to bring out our natural beauty and to define and enhance our unique features. Beauty is diverse and should be inclusive of all race, ethnicity, body type, hair type and skin color. Measuring ones beauty against a more culturally accepted yet unattainable beauty standard such as “All  American” has gone on for far too long and there needs to be a change.

OUR NAME

It was important  to choose a name that would have a strong underlying meaning while having a feminine and playful feel to it. We came up with the word Nude because it had so many meanings that rang true to the values of our brand. Nude for us means your truest state of beauty, bare, how you were born. Nude is also the main color palette of the brand. We also use Nude as as acronym: N.ever U.nderestimate the power of D.etermination and E.mpowerment - which is messaging we want to convey throughout the brands story. We added babe for a feminine playful touch. To us nude babe means determination, empowerment, standing up for yourself, your culture and your beliefs. Staying true to you, your natural beauty and embracing who you were born to be.
